A2 to B1 Spanish sentence-building routine

Choose a sentence that you can say without translation.

Trabajo en una empresa de tecnología.

Check subject, verb, article, noun. Add nothing until the base is stable.

Add time, place, frequency, quantity, or a person.

Trabajo en una empresa de tecnología en Delhi desde 2024.

The detail must answer a real question: otherwise cut it.

Use one connector that matches the relationship.

Trabajo en una empresa de tecnología en Delhi desde 2024, pero quiero usar más español con clientes.

One at a time: porque reason, por eso result, pero or sin embargo contrast.

Add a follow-up question or answer a likely one.

1. Pick a prompt; speak for 30 seconds without notes.
2. Write one accurate base sentence.
3. Build the four versions; read them once.
4. Hide the page; answer again for 60 seconds.
5. Write down what you actually said.
6. Correct one pattern; record a final take.

Keep both recordings; retry the structure with a new topic two days later.

Before: Me gusta viajar. España es bonita. Quiero ir.

After: Me gusta viajar porque puedo conocer otras formas de vida. Me gustaría visitar España el próximo año, aunque primero necesito organizar mi presupuesto.

• Explain a habit you want to change.
• Recommend a place in your city.
• Describe a recent problem and what happened next.
• Compare studying alone with studying in a group.
• Explain one plan for the next six months.

Same four steps daily; new topics prevent memorised paragraphs.

Fix errors that repeat or change meaning: tense errors count, missing accents in notes don't.

Use this order:

1. Is the message understandable?
2. Does the verb place the event at the right time?
3. Are the subject and object clear?
4. Does the connector match the relationship?
5. Can you say the corrected sentence without reading?

Drop back to two steps: base sentence plus one detail. If it's correct on paper but gone in speech, shorten it.

This routine builds speaking. It can't certify B1 or replace real conversation.
