Auxiliares de Conversación India 2026 to 2027 update

The official page lists these core conditions:

• Indian citizenship.
• A degree, or final-year enrolment in a bachelor's or higher. The India page's transcript step also says at least second year; applicants below final year should ask the India Office to resolve that conflict.
• C1 English via a certificate the Spanish Education Office in India accepts.
• At least A2 Spanish via DELE or SIELE GLOBAL.
• Good health, with nothing limiting your ability to teach.
• No criminal record: this also matters for the visa.

The signed call requires new applicants to have turned 18 before 1 January 2026 and be under 45 on 1 January 2027.

Use the Education Office's accepted C1 certificate table. It lists IELTS 7.5 to 8 and TOEFL iBT 95 to 120, among other named certificates. It does not list Duolingo or a medium-of-instruction letter.

The table gives marked certificates a two-year validity rule, while the India webpage gives a 30 September 2022 cutoff. Ask the India Office which rule applies to your certificate before relying on an older result.

For Spanish, the minimum is A2 via DELE or SIELE GLOBAL. No self-study kit replaces official evidence.

India-eligible regions this cycle: Aragón, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Extremadura, and País Vasco. Availability can change by nationality and cycle.

The regional conditions list 14 to 16 hours a week. Most India-eligible regions pay €800 monthly; Extremadura pays €935, Castilla y León pays €800 or €935, and Cantabria lists €800 or €914.29. Your appointment letter controls the award and schedule.

This is a supervised educational and cultural assistantship with an allowance, not an employment relationship.

India participants get at most two programme years. Second-year rules differ and can require a favourable school report.

The official page says the letter must:

• be addressed to the Spanish Ministry of Education;
• be written in English;
• contain 250 to 300 words;
• be dated;
• be signed by the applicant.

Write only what you can support. Invented experience can sink an application.

Your Profex 2 number must match your passport number. The India page requires at least one year of validity after expected entry and also instructs applicants to use a passport valid through the end of January 2028 for this cycle.

The five Profex uploads are the passport copy, official degree or transcript, signed motivation letter, reference letter, and signed Health Statement and Statutory Declaration. The reference must be on letterhead, at most one page, dated no earlier than 1 September 2025, and signed by a professor or employer.

Language evidence remains an India requirement. Follow the India Office's preselection instructions for its submission. Keep visa medical/PCC documents and post-arrival forms separate from the Profex file list.

Selection is not placement, and placement is not a visa. Follow the appointment letter, official messages, consular instructions, and the BLS checklist.

The current handbook and FAQ give two days to accept, while a general Ministry webpage still says three. Respond within two days and follow your selection email's deadline.

Teaching assistants use a national study visa for educational activities. Use your assigned consulate. New Delhi and Mumbai publish different translation and document details. Stays beyond six months require a TIE application within one month after entry. Avoid non-refundable travel until the visa and arrival date are confirmed.

The Ministry's general conditions say the first allowance will not arrive before late December at the earliest and advise savings for November through January. Further regional delays are possible.

The Ministry states it charges no registration fees. Any payment demand to apply is a red flag.

Separate costs exist: visa services, documents, travel, housing, insurance, prep. Verify each fee with whoever charges it.

If you applied, watch Profex 2 and official messages. Keep copies of everything you submitted.

If you missed it, wait for the next official India call. No 2027 to 2028 India dates were found in the official sources checked on 8 October 2026. Requirements, regions, certificates, hours, and allowances change; never reuse these dates.
