The official India page lists these core conditions for new applicants:

• Indian citizenship.
• A university degree or enrolment in the final year of a bachelor's degree or higher.
• C1 English supported by a certificate accepted by the Spanish Education Office in India.
• At least A2 Spanish supported by DELE or SIELE GLOBAL.
• Good physical and mental health without a limitation that affects the ability to teach.
• No criminal record, which is also relevant to the visa process.

The detailed call sets the exact age reference dates. The verified cycle brief requires a new applicant to be at least 18 by 1 January 2026 and under 45 on 1 January 2027. Read the current call before relying on a summary.

A claim that you speak English or Spanish is not enough. For English, use the current accepted-certificate list linked by the Spanish Education Office in India. The page says certificates outside that list are not accepted. It also applies a validity condition to certain listed certificates.

For Spanish, the stated minimum is A2 through DELE or SIELE GLOBAL. A self-study course or kit does not replace that official evidence.

The verified India-eligible regions for this cycle are Aragón, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Extremadura, and País Vasco. Region availability can change by nationality and cycle.

The baseline is usually 14 hours per week and €800 per month, with regional variations. The role is an educational and cultural assistantship. It is not an employment relationship or a Social Security contribution.

India participants may spend no more than two programme years in total. Returning-applicant rules differ and include a favourable report from the prior school for eligible second-year candidates.

The official India page states that the letter must:

• be addressed to the Spanish Ministry of Education;
• be written in English;
• contain 250 to 300 words;
• be dated;
• be signed by the applicant.

Write only experiences you can support. A sample letter can help with structure, but invented work, teaching, travel, or volunteer experience can damage an application.

The official page says the Profex 2 registration number must match the passport number used for the application. It also asks applicants to hold a passport valid for at least one year from the expected entry date and advises longer validity because appointment and visa timing can delay arrival.

Follow the current Profex handbook for uploads and submission. Do not combine application documents, visa documents, and post-arrival documents into one checklist. They belong to different stages and may be requested by different authorities.

An application is not a placement, and a placement is not a visa. Selected applicants should follow the appointment letter, official programme messages, Spanish consular instructions, and the current BLS checklist.

Non-EU applicants generally need a national study visa for this stay. Applicants staying longer than six months generally need to apply for a TIE after arrival. Exact documents and timing can change. Do not book non-refundable travel until the visa and start arrangements are confirmed.

The Ministry page explicitly states that it does not charge registration fees. A request for payment to submit the official application is a warning sign.

Separate costs can still exist, such as visa-service charges, documents, travel, housing, insurance, and personal preparation. Check each fee with the authority or provider that charges it.

If you applied, check Profex 2 and the official messages connected to your application. Keep copies of the submitted form and documents. Follow only the appointment, visa, and regional instructions that apply to your case.

If you missed the window, do not reuse these dates for a later cycle. Wait for the next official India call. Requirements, regions, certificates, hours, allowances, and application steps can change.

This is the responsible choice. A polished guide with the wrong eligibility threshold is worse than no guide.
